Building
a Strong Brand
Strong brands share a common thread–– one that
charts new territory, stimulates strong emotions, and creates
a lasting impression across a range of products and communications.
Like any good story, a good brand is relevant. It is believable.
It is memorable by design. |

La
Jolla Commons Office Tower is a 15 story 345,000-sq.
ft. high rise, a joint venture developement between
Hines and TIAA-CREF. La Jolla Commons has received
Silver pre-certification in the Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design Core and Shell (LEED-CS)
program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Green Building
Council (USGBC). Hines is a leader in enviromentally
sustainable building practices.
CHALLENGE
To understand, explore and create a corporate identity
and integrated branding system and for a new office
building that reflects the essence of the Hines
brand Oh yeah and design their corporate identity
in one week. The integrated branding system needed
to reflect Hines green sensibilities.
RESULT
Creation of timeless logo derived from west elevation
of the office tower, the simplified vertical lines
mirror the proportions and architecture of the
building, while the tree references the expansive
campus and unique cork oak trees.
The integrated branding system made use of green
practices creating multiple uses for the collateral
with as little an environment impact as possible. |
